Iranian musician to perform at Malaysian festival 

 

TEHRAN -- Neyanbun virtuoso Mohsen Sharifian will be introducing mourning songs of the southern city of Bushehr during the Putrajaya International Islamic Arts and Cultural Festival of Malaysia running from October 30 to November 2.

 

Sharifian, who is originally from Bushehr, has written the book “Inhabitants of Mourning” about the roots of mourning songs in Bushehr. 

 

About 20 Iranian artists have been invited to the festival this year.

“Red Dream” to go on screen in Bulgaria 

 

TEHRAN -- “Red Dream” by Shahriar Purseyyedian will go on screen at the 7th Sofia Menar Film Festival running from January 15 to February 1, 2015.

 

Produced by the Iranian Young Cinema Society (IYCS), the short film features the story of a dreamy child who lives with his grandmother, the New Year is approaching and he has a new dream in his mind.

Iran’s Exhibition of Press and News Agencies to kick off in November

 

TEHRAN – Tehran will be hosting the 20th Exhibition of Press and News Agencies at Imam Khomeini Mosalla in November.

 

The exhibit will be promoting the motto “Committed Freedom” this year, Deputy Culture Minister for Press Affairs Hossein Entezami said in a press conference on Tuesday.

 

A variety of newspapers, magazines and periodicals will be on display in the exhibit running from November 8 to 14.
