TEHRAN -- Two Iranian theater troupes will give performances at the Harmony World Puppet Carnival, which will be held on Rattanakosin Island in Bangkok, Thailand from November 1 to 10.
The 27-Aban Group Theater led by director Hamed Zarean will perform a street show entitled “Our Childhood World” and the 7-5–1 Theater Group led by director Amir Mashhadi Abbas will stage “Naughty Boy”.
“Our Childhood World”, which has not been performed in Iran yet, is about the clash between tradition and modernity.
“Naughty Boy” (“Nimvajabi”) is about a naughty baby who has to spend his day alone with his father, because his grandmother is ill and his mother has to look after her.
“Naughty Boy” previously went on stage in Tehran and several other Iranian cities, including Shiraz and Zahedan.
More than 160 troupes of puppeteers from 80 countries will take part at the event.
