TEHRAN -- Austria will award Iranian auteur Abbas Kiarostami the Austrian Decoration for Science and Art in the near future, some Persian new agencies announced on Monday.
He will receive the medal from Austrian President Heinz Fischer during a ceremony in Vienna.
The medal was established in 1960 to honor international figures for their outstanding achievements in the fields of sciences or arts.
Kiarostami has previously decorated with several state medals, including France’s Chevalier of the Legion of Honor.
