TEHRAN -- Iranian Labor, Cooperatives and Social Welfare Minister Ali Rabiei visited Tehran Times co-founder Irfan Parviz at his home in Tehran on Saturday evening.

The 84-year-old journalist is suffering from various afflictions of old age.

The managing director of the Tehran Times and Mehr News Agency, Ali Asgari, also accompanied Rabiei during the visit.

“It is the duty of the Ministry of Labor, Cooperatives and Social Welfare to cover all medical expenses for media veterans,” Rabiei said during the visit.

He ordered his colleagues to transfer Irfan Parviz to one of Tehran’s hospitals. Afterwards, Irfan Parviz was admitted to Milad Hospital.

Deputy Culture Minister for Press Affairs Hossein Entezami also visited Irfan Parviz last week.
