“Superman, Spiderman, or Batman” wins Golden Lotus for best film at Parvin festival

TEHRAN -- “Superman, Spiderman, or Batman”, a film by Romanian director Tudor Giurgiu, has won the Golden Lotus Award for best film in the international section of the 8th Parvin Etesami Film Festival.
 
Winners were announced during the closing ceremony of the festival, which highlights films on the theme of women, at Tehran’s Eyvan-e Shams Hall on Friday evening.
 
The film tells the story of Aron, a 5-year-old boy, together with his worried father, who sets out on a journey at the end of which he wishes, like the superheroes in the comic books, to save his mother who is suffering from a heart problem.
 
“18 Kg” by Kacper Czubak from Poland took the Golden Lotus Award in the documentary section, and “Grandmother”, an animation by Carlos Eduardo Smith Rovira from Colombia, took the Golden Lotus Award for best animation in this section.
 
Winners of the different national sections of the 8th national edition of the festival were next announced and honored.
 
The best film award went to “Emergency Deletion” by directors Fahimeh Aqahasani and Peyman Naeimi.
 
“3 Mosht Hak” by Naser Kahyyer won the best documentary award, and the best animation award went to “Tree” by Sareh Shafieipur.
 
Three films “Ney Player Khadijeh and the Herd”,”Amidst the Branches”, and “Pear” by director Amir Shokrgozar received the special jury award.
 
Filmkaer Razzaqi received the best filmmaker award for her “Ooya”, while Mahbubeh Mohammad Zaki won the best screenwriter award for her “Digital Native”.
 
The best editing award went to Mahta Nilforushan for “Both Sides of a Narrow Line”.
 
Moreover, Zahra Ebrahimi and Zeinab Ebrahimi shared the best actress award in the film “Jila”.
