Felestin, Asre-Jadid and Cinéma Vérité theaters are playing host to all screenings at this event, which is held annually by the Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC).
A total of 32 documentaries by filmmakers from 14 countries are scheduled to be screened in the international competition section of the festival, which will be running until November 10, the Persian media outlets reported.
The organizers have also selected over 200 films by Iranian documentarians for the national competition section.
Works by filmmakers from Argentina, Cuba, Chile and Mexico have been selected for a program being held on the sidelines of the Frameless Mirrors section.
This year the cash prizes in the international competition will be paid in rials. Cinéma Vérité had paid the cash prizes in dollars in previous editions.
