“Cyrus the Great” hits Iranian bookstores

TEHRAN -- “Cyrus the Great” written by Samuel Willard Crompton has recently been published in Persian.
 
The book, which was translated into Persian by Sara Hashemi, has been printed by Qoqnus Publications.
 
The book is part of the “Ancient World Leaders Series”, which has released by the Chelsea House Publications in 2008.
 
In the preface, Crompton describes Cyrus as a man who “welded together groups of people as disparate as Afghani tribesmen and Turkish farmers, creating the first world empire known in the Western world”.
