TEHRAN – The Divan of Imam Ali (AS) has recently been published in Persian for the first time in Iran, publisher Rashedin announced on Sunday.
Like the Nahj-ul-Balagha, the poems of the divan were collected after the martyrdom of Imam Ali (AS) in various versions, 60 of which still survive, translator and Rashedin Managing Director Raheb Arefi told the Persian service of the Mehr News Agency.
Arefi’s translation is based on a version corrected by the Syrian scholar Salim Shamseddin.
It took eight months for Arefi to translate the divan, which has previously been published in Lebanon and Syria.
