Iranian news agency to hold intl. cartoon contest about Quds Day

 

TEHRAN – The AhlulBayt News Agency in Iran plans to hold a cartoon contest on the theme of International Quds Day.

 

Submissions should be sent to cartoon@islamicaretz.com until July 22.

 

International Quds Day is commemorated on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan every year in order to highlight the occupation of Palestinian lands by Israel and to show solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian nation.

 

 

Iranian festival receives over 300 submissions from foreign filmmakers  

 

TEHRAN – Over 300 films by filmmakers from 54 countries have been submitted so far to the 28th Isfahan International Festival of Films for Children.

 

 

The films have been sent by directors from Argentina, Belarus, Russia, China, Greece, Japan, Ireland and 47 other countries.

 

The festival will be held in the central Iranian city of Isfahan from October 3 to 6.

 

 

Italian News Agency officials visiting IRNA

 

TEHRAN – Italian News Agency (AGI) Director General Alessandro Pica and chief editor Roberto Iadicicco have arrived in Tehran to mull over a plan to collaborate with the Islamic Republic of Iran News Agency (IRNA).

 

They visited some historical sites in the central Iranian city of Isfahan on Monday on the sidelines of their trip to Iran. 

 

 

 

TEHRAN – A Persian translation of “Beethoven, the Man and the Artist: As Revealed in His Own Words” written by Friedrich Kerst and Henry Edward Krehbiel has been published in Iran.

 

Translated by Hossein Soltan-Rahmati, the book was published by Afraz Publications.

 

The book is a collection of Beethoven’s diaries and letters, which reflect his views on music, art, God, education, his own works, and many other subjects.

 

Iranian films line up for Italian festival TEHRAN – Three Iranian short films will go on screen at the 15th Lucania Film Festival, which will be held in Italy from August 10 to 13.

 

 

 

The films are “The Theft” directed by Mohammad Farahani, “Must Black” by Baran Sarmad and “It Hit upon the Roof” by Teimur Qaderi.
