TEHRAN -- The Iranian movie “Taboor”, directed by Vahid Vakilifar will compete at the 53rd Thessaloniki International Film Festival in Athens, Greece, in November.

The film is about a man dressed in a metallic suit who lives in an aluminum-clad trailer. His astronaut-grade clothing protects his body from overheating due to magnetic radiation.

At night, he mounts his motorcycle and travels the abandoned streets of Tehran in search of bacteria.

The film was screened at the Festival du nouveau cinéma, which was held in Montreal, Canada, from October 2 to 14.

“Taboor” is the second feature-length film by Vakilifar. His debut movie “Gesher” won several prizes in international festivals.

The Thessaloniki festival is scheduled to be held from November 2 to 11. It will be hosting distinguished guests, tributes, master classes, round table discussions and many other programs.
