TEHRAN -- “School”, an Iranian movie about the Bosnian war in 1992, won the Silver Saber award at the International Historical and Military Films Festival Monday.

Producer/director Mohammadreza Abbasian was not able to attend the closing ceremony of the festival, so the Iranian military attaché in Warsaw accepted the award, which is presented to the second best film in the international competition section.

The film is about a small school in Sarajevo with many happy students in 2011. But, the side stories about what happened to some of the teachers and staff during the Bosnian war in 1992 to 1995 are horrible.

The International Historical and Military Films Festival is organized annually by the Polish Film Institute (PISF) and the Polish Ministry of National Defense.
