The exhibit will be held from October 26 to November 2, the gallery has announced on its website.
“Rodchenko 120” was held by a number of Russian graphic designers at the Winzavod Centre for Contemporary Art in Moscow in 2011 to commemorate the 120th birth anniversary of their compatriot artist Aleksander Rodchenko.
Among the graphic designers were Aleksandr Lavrent’ev, Boris Trofimov, Evgenii Dobrovinskii, Dima Kavko, Vladimir Chaika, Igor Gurovich,Tagir Safaev and Erken Kagarov.
The Russian artist, sculptor, photographer and graphic designer Aleksander Rodchenko (1891–1956) was one of the founders of constructivism and Russian design.
Rodchenko was one of the most versatile constructivist and productivist artists to emerge after the Russian Revolution. He worked as a painter and graphic designer before turning to photomontage and photography.
Rodchenko’s work was heavily influenced by cubism and futurism, as well as by Malevich’s suprematist compositions, which featured geometric forms placed against a white background.
The event is sponsored by the Golden Bee - Moscow International Biennale of Graphic Design and Iran’s Deed Graphic Company.
The Vijeh Gallery is located at No.5, 3rd Alley, Arabali Avenue, off Khorramshahr Street.
