Organized by Iran’s Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, the exhibit is to commemorate International Women’s Day, which is today, March 8.
A number of Iranian and Chinese art and cultural figures including director of Mass Art Xia Ing and Consul General of Iran in Shanghai Mohammad-Hadi Sobhani attended the opening ceremony, the Persian service of IRNA reported on Friday.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Xia Ing expressed her thanks to the organizers of the exhibit and said that art is a language of all nations and can bring them closer to one another.
She added that these types of exhibits can help introduce Persian art to the Chinese and provide the grounds for the artists of both countries to make better use of their experiences.
Mohammad-Hadi Sobhani regarded such events the best means to develop cultural relations between the two countries, and hoped that these programs make people of China more familiar with Iranian artists.
The exhibit will be running until March 10.
