TEHRAN -- Persian versions of two books by the renowned French writer and filmmaker Alain Robbe-Grillet will be released by Afkar Publications in Tehran in the near future.

Parviz Shahdi has translated “Recollections of the Golden Triangle” and “La Maison de Rendez-Vous”, the Persian service of ISNA reported on Friday.

Shahdi has previously rendered Robbe-Grillet’s “Topology of a Phantom City” and “Project for a Revolution in New York” into Persian.

“Recollections of the Golden Triangle” is a tour de force: a literary thriller constructed of wildly diverse elements—fantasy and dreams, and the stuff of popular fiction and movies taken to its farthest limits.

Set in Hong Kong, the novella “La Maison de Rendez-vous” unfolds over the course of one evening, but the events of that night recur repeatedly, from the perspectives of different characters.

Robbe-Grillet (1922–2008) was a French writer and filmmaker. He was, along with Nathalie Sarraute, Michel Butor and Claude Simon, one of the figures most associated with the Nouveau Roman (new novel) trend.

Alain Robbe-Grillet was elected a member of the Académie Française on 25 March 2004, succeeding Maurice Rheims at seat No. 32.
