TEHRAN – The Art Bureau plans to open in March a bank for songs that have been composed by Iranian songwriters.
The bank will be a comprehensive database, which will contain all the songs composed by Iranian lyricists, Art Bureau’s Song Department director Saeid Biabanaki told the Persian service of MNA on Tuesday.
Iranian lyricists can register their songs in the database, which will be protected by copyright, he added.
“Music companies can access registered songs, and then purchase and use them after they pay for the copyright,” he added.
“Moreover, the best songs will be purchased by the office and announced every three months on the website,” he said.
The primary service will be free of charge. However, lyricists will have to pay money to register their works in the database.
