Persian calligraphy and illumination works on display at Russian State Library

TEHRAN – A collection of Persian calligraphy works and illuminations was put on display in an exhibition, which opened at the Russian State Library’s Center of Oriental Literature in Moscow on Saturday.
 
The exhibition entitled “Messenger of Kindness” has been organized by the library and the Iranian Embassy in Moscow to commemorate the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (S), which was January 19, the Persian service of IRNA reported on Sunday.
 
About 40 works by Iranian artists Ghaffar Qanbarpur and Rahim Charkhi have been put on display at the exhibit.
 
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the director of the library Victor Fedorov asked for more cultural relations with Iran.
 
He expressed happiness over expansion of bilateral relations and said that Iran and Russia with their rich history need to be friends and collaborate more.
 
Iranian ambassador in Moscow Mehdi Sanaii also expressed his gratitude to the director of the library for holding the exhibit.
 
He also thanked the two artists for their works.
 
The exhibit will be running in the library for five days.
