Fajr festival to honor sound recordist Jahangir Mirshekari

TEHRAN – The veteran Iranian sound recordist Jahangir Mirshekari will receive a Golden Simorgh for his lifetime achievements at the 32nd Fajr International Film Festival, which will be held in Tehran in February 2014.
 
Mirshekari, 67, began his career in cinema with Bahram Beizaii’s acclaimed movie “Bashu, the Little Stranger” in 1986.
 
His collaborations in Abbas Kiarostami’s “Where Is My Friend’s Home?”, Darius Mehrjui’s “The Tenants” and Ahmadreza Darvish’s “Land of the Sun” brought him several prizes at previous editions of the Fajr festival.
 
His credits also include “Mama’s Guest” directed by Mehrjuii, “Absolutely Tame is a Horse” and “Nothing” by Abdorreza Kahani.
