Farkas has been invited to showcase his works at the exhibit in memory of Morteza Momayyez (1935-2005), who is the father of modern graphic design in Iran.
He is also scheduled to deliver a speech at the IAF’s Jallil Shahnaz Hall on November 9.
Farkas is a very active graphic designer. His works have been showcased in more than a dozen international posters biennials.
In 1987, he founded the Maquina Studio, a small visual research lab, to work as a graphic designer and illustrator.
The studio created 50 posters designed for the Sao Paulo State Symphony Orchestra. He develops unique products for clients such as PepsiCo, BMW, and many other art and culture organizations.
He is also the author of “Musical Posters”, which was published in 2010, and was the co-founder of ADG, the Brazilian Association of Graphic Designers.
Swiss graphic designers Bruno Monguzzi and Niklaus Troxler held exhibitions in honor of Momayyez in Tehran in 2010 and 2011.
French graphic designer Pierre Bernard had also commemorated Momayyez by holding a showcase in Tehran in 2008.
Momayyez died of prostate cancer on November 26, 2005. He was the chairman of the board of directors of the Iranian Graphic Designers Society from 1988 to 2004.
