
Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture Mohammad Nuh and a number of Iranian cultural officials attended the ceremony.
As part of the festival, Indonesian films are being shown at the Andisheh Cultural Center and an exhibition of Indonesian culture and handicrafts is being held at Milad Tower.
At the opening ceremony, Indonesian artists gave performances of Indonesian music and dance.
At a press conference after the performances, Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture Mohammad Nuh said the festival was being held to familiarize Iranians with Indonesian culture.
Nuh also said that no word is better than friendship, and thus efforts should be made to strengthen the friendship between Iran and Indonesia.
He added that an Iranian Cultural Festival will be held in Indonesia next year.
