“A Prophet” discussed in Tehran

TEHRAN -- “A Prophet”, a joint French-Italian production directed by Jacques Audiard, was reviewed by a number of Iranian critics during a session in Tehran on Wednesday.
 
Mohammadreza Moqaddasian, Mohammadreza Lotfi and Seyyed Saeid Hashemzadeh discussed the film after a screening, which was organized by the Cultural and Artistic Organization of the Tehran Municipality at its Center for Artistic Cultural Cooperation.
 
Tahar Rahim, Niels Arestrup and Adel Bencherif starred in the film, which is about a young Arab man who is sent to a French prison where he becomes a mafia kingpin.
 
Audiard is a French film director, the son of filmmaker Michel Audiard, also a notable screenwriter.
 
He won twice both the César Award for Best Film and the BAFTA Award for Best Film in 2005 for “The Beat That My Heart Skipped” and in 2010 for “A Prophet”.
