Iranian films line up for Bosnian festival

TEHRAN – Six Iranian documentaries will go on screen during the 6th Jahorina Film Festival, a Bosnian event that focuses on environmental films.
 
The festival will screen “The Hope Height” by Keyavn Majidi, “In Search of Persian Leopard” by Fatollah Amiri, “Bounty” by Mehdi Moradi-Haqiqi, “Talom” by Esmaeil Ramezani, “Love Tie” by Jamal Oskuii and “Nesal” by Ali Shahabinejad.
 
The documentaries, which are productions of offices of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) in different provinces, will go on screen during the event that runs from September 26 to 30.
 
“The Hope Height” is the story of an old man in Uraman, Kordestan province who changed a high mountain into a vineyard in memory of his deceased wife.
 
Fatollah Amiri’s “In Search of a Persian Leopard” is about the largest leopard subspecies in Iran’s northern provinces, which is endangered throughout its range with fewer than 871–1,290 mature individuals and a declining population trend.
 
“Bounty” is about the spiritual value of bread in Iranian society and “Talom” focuses on a kind of praying for rain under the same title, a ritual in villages near Shahrud in Semnan provinces.
 
The “Love Tie” is a documentary about carpet weaving in Iran and in “Nesal”, the director introduces a kind of handicrafts in the southern city Bandar Abbas.
